The First Seminar on JSPS Core-to-Core Program “Establishment of Research Hub for Compact Mobility Model in the ASEAN Region” closed with the total of 70 participants from four universities: Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Nagoya University (NU), CU – Chulalongkorn University (CU), and National University of Laos (NUOL).
The event built on the success of Multilateral Cooperation Development that the four universities did sign the second Agreement for Academic Exchange and Cooperation in August 2016. The first agreement signed in August 2013 resulted in a successful project “JSPS Core-to-Core Program: Establishment of Education Hub on Biomass based Materials Research for Green Mobility”.

Colleagues, professors, lecturers, doctors, and students from four universities were at the event, all in one place Hanoi University of Science and Technology, to discuss the truth and beauty of science, technology and education, while celebrating the global friendships, and cooperation during two days and a half (from March 6 to 8, 2017) with one day of seminar, one day of professor meeting parallel to student workshop followed with company visit, and half day of HUST tour.

On the first day (Mar.6), the seminar started with a welcome speech of Prof. Dinh Van Phong, Vice President of HUST andProf. Dr. Ryoichi Ichino (Director of Green Mobility Research Institute, Nagoya University) followed with an overview of the program. Before the poster session (with 28 posters) held in the afternoon were eight oral presentations. The topics covered all nature of science and technology, but mainly fuel production, fluid dynamics, and batteries & energy storage conducted at four universities. The seminar was closed by Assoc. Prof. Le Anh Tuan, Dean of School of Transportation Engineering.
On the second day(Mar. 7), a meeting was held in the morning, gathering all professors from 4 universities to improve the future of Academic Exchange and Cooperation, and to set up some new networks and projects. At the same time, all students were gathered at a student workshop to focus on “Challenging traffic problems in the city of Hanoi – How to achieve interdisciplinary problem solving?” instructed by Prof. Kiyohisa Nishiyama. In the afternoon, the participants from NU, CU and NUOL visited two companies: Honda Vietnam and HTMP.
Before leaving, the participants from NU, CU and NUOL visited AIST (Advanced Institute for Science and Technology, HUST) and ICE (Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine, School of Transportation Engineering, HUST)in the morning of Mar. 8.
In conclusion, the First Seminar on JSPS Core-to-Core Program “Establishment of Research Hub for Compact Mobility Model in the ASEAN Region” was successfully held and organized with exchanging experience and knowledge along with friendships, and cooperation.
