MOU Signing Ceremony between KICS and HUST

On December 16th 2014 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, HUST and Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS) officially signed the renewed agreement between HUST and KICS and co-organized the 2nd KICS Korea-Vietnam International Workshop on Information and Communications (IWIC).

Attending the signing ceremony were Prof. Dong Ho Cho, President of KICS, Prof. Jong Seon No, Senior Vice President of KICS, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Khang, HUST Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Huu Thanh, Dean of School of Electronics and Telecommunication, and Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Tien Dung, President of KICS Vietnam branch, Dr. Nguyen Phu Khanh, Director of International Cooperation Department and other representatives from KICS and School of Electronics and Telecommunication, HUST.

HUST hopes that this renewal MOU signing ceremony will create more chances to derive significant benefits through activities of co-operation and the sharing of information and expertise. KICS will support School of Electronics and Telecommunication, HUST to enhance the joint cooperation based on their respective academic, educational and industrial needs.

On this occasion, School of Electronics and Telecommunication, HUST and KICS also co-organized the 2nd KICS Korea-Vietnam International Workshop on Information and Communications (IWIC).

Participating the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Khang stressed that “HUST defined that our strategic vision of development and cooperation in scientific research had to take into account the globally international cooperation. HUST has established relationships in education and research with over 40 universities and enterprises in South Korea; especially promoted close relationship with KICS in information and telecommunication. Up to now, this relationship has really become leverage in the bilateral research program.”

“After 4 years of cooperation, this second workshop, hosted by HUST and KICS Vietnam Chapter, aimed to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars in Korea and Vietnam to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of information and communication technology and to boost the cooperation and technology innovation in the development of both countries”, President Dong Ho Cho added in the workshop.

The 2nd KICS Korea-Vietnam International Workshop on Information and Communications had 31 presentations from many experts, researchers from universities in Vietnam and South Korea in the field of signal processing and its applications, wireless communication, hardware and software applications, ect…

Hopefully, the cooperation relationship between HUST and KICS will promote more research activities not only in the field of information and telecommunication but also in policy and standardization in implementing joint research projects between HUST and KICS, and to kick-off some bilateral projects in near future.
