1. The Program’s Objective

The objective of the Bachelor of Transportation Engineering Program is to provide the graduates with:
(1) Solid background knowledge in order to well adapt to various works of the transportation engineering field
(2) Professional skills and personal character needed to be successful in their career and their further study at engineer, master and doctoral levels , both domestic and overseas;
(3) Essential social skills to work effectively in the interdisciplinary groups and international environment
(4) Product development and technical solution supply ability for the transportation engineering field, taking into account socio-economic and environmental factors
(5) Political character, morality, willingness to serve people and health in order to meet high requirements for Motherland construction and protection
2. Standard outputs – Expected Results

After completion,Bachelor of the HUST’s Transportation Engineering would have:
1. Solid background knowledge to adapt to various works in the transportation Engineering field. Specifically, they are able to:
1.1 Apply fundamental knowledge, such as, math and physic to simulate and calculate technical systems and and products (MI1110…..)
1.2 Apply fundamental technical knowledge, for example, mechanics, mechanics of machine, mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, geometry and CAD in research, design and analyse of the technical systems and equipment on engine, automobile and aero-hydraulic automation (ME2011…)
1.3 Apply technical knowledge, such as, mechanical transmission and hydraulic transmission and exploit advanced methods and tools to design and assess systematic solutions and technical products in the fields of mechnical engineering, engine, automobile, machine and aero-hydraulic automation (TE2000…)
2. Essential professional skills and personal characters to be successful in their career. They are able to:

4.2 Recognise problems, develop idias of technical solutions and participate in project formulation (TE2000, …)
4.3 Participate in designing product and technical solutions for the fields of mechanical engineering, engine, automobile and aero-hydraulic automation (ME3230, …)
4.4 Participate in manufacturing product and implement technical solutions in the fields of mechanical engineering, engine, automobile and aero-hydraulic automation (ME3230, …)

5. Political character, morality, willingness to serve people and health in order to meet high requirements for Motherland construction and protection. The graduates would obtain:
5.1 A political qualification as specified by MOET (SSH1110, …)
5.2 A certificate of physical and defense-security education as specifed by MOET (PE1010, …)
3 Training time and amount of knowledge for the whole course

– Designed training time: 4 years (8 semesters). According to the training regulations, students are able to shorten training time to 3 semesters or extend to maximum 5 semesters
– Amount of knowledge for the whole course: 132 credits
4 Eligible candidate

– Students who completed from secondary school and passed the national entry exam for group A, conforming to HUST and MOET’s regulations
– Persons who graduated from other universities could apply for the second undergraduate training program under the general regulations of MOET and specific stipulations of HUST.
5 Training Procedures and graduate conditions

5.1. List of general disciplines in the technique group

Note:
1) English requirement: Student could get an English exemption for TOEIC I and II iif they who get TOEIC score from 290 or higher and 330 or higher, respectively. Before receiving topic for capstone project, student must get 450 TOEIC score (except some programs where main foreign languages are not English, the minimum requirement is 330 TOEIC score)
2) The physical and defense education units: There is a separate certificate for these units. These are not in the total amount of the knowledge for professional training and calculation of average score for student. Training time and content are subject to MOET’s general regulations
